Why Did I Start all of This Mess?...

I am linking up today with Nicole from

for
 Hobby to Business Challenge #1

Nicole, in all of her , small business, take the bull by the horns awesomeness, has decided to lead us through her version of "Small Business Month".  She is deemed our Captain in helping us gain exposure, interest, relationships, brand loyalty and ultimately success.  So, with that said, I am super excited to jump into this challenge of sorts and basically... TAKE ALL THE ADVICE I CAN GET!  Woo hoo...thanks Nicole!

So, why did I start all of this mess?  Here goes...

I have been crafting since I was 21.  I am self-taught everything which means I most likely do it the longest and hardest way; quite possible {most likely} the backwards way.  But in the end I will have {somewhat} figured it out…usually {wink}

With that said, after the family began to fall apart at the seams with me working full-time, my husband and I decided I needed to be at home.  I really didn’t have much of a choice, the crafts needed to work for me.  I had been doing it for several years; at first starting with craft fairs and local sales.  Then I found Etsy
{I love you Etsy!}
And I just keep adding shops.

I {thankfully} sell quite a bit locally so often you will find my shops a bit…
{looking for a delicate phrase…crud, I can’t find one} NEGLECTED
But hey, at least I have tons of room for improvement.

Time management isn’t as much of a trial as children management is! Haha!  I have 6 kids, 5 of which are still at home usually found sitting within a foot and a half from me.
{That is no joke!  Blessed Mama?  Yes!}
{Uninterrupted worker? No!}

I have FINALLY gotten my craft room in order.
{Fine, orderly shambles}
But I am an artist so that’s quite alright.
{Normally, I wouldn’t refer to myself as an artist, but I know they get the breaks when it comes to order so
I’m jumping on that ride as it flies by!}
So, now I will be able to walk into the room with refreshing happiness and just sit down and work.

I started my blog recently in order to {I think} network for my shops and really get a platform started for my writing.  Yep, I am a writer too.  {Now, that I am more comfortable saying.}  I promise people, I don’t write my books the way I write my blog.  My blog is how I sound in real life.  My books don’t sound like I was raised with wild teenagers.
{They’re not done with me yet! Wink.}

So, I’m thinkin’ that’s about all I’ve got.  I do have to say that this whole blogging thing has turned me sideways though.  I absolutely love it.  It’s even more fun when I find out someone has read what I wrote.  What?!
It makes me giggle to pieces every time I get a comment because I feel like they must have emailed the wrong girl or something.  Fun stuff, I tell ya!
{Huh?  No, I don’t get out much.}

I am really looking forward to reading all of the link-ups and meeting you all hopefully soon on the blog path.  Happy October!

 loves,

Pidg

  6. Wow, this post takes me back. I did various crafts for extra money back with my boys were young and I was a full time mom. Never moved beyond local craft events (no blogging back then - heck, no Internet) but I had a good time.
